Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
