Illegal Transport Methods

Regarding inquiries concerning why criminal organizations employ a approach that remains particularly vulnerable to weather factors rather than more controllable drones, representatives elaborated that "Weather devices are rudimentary tools used by contraband transporters - they are cheaper than drones for transporting cigarettes from Belarus."

Security Service Goals

Officials added that "Our services' aim is to confiscate the maximum possible volumes of smuggled items and to apprehend coordinators and perpetrators so that these practices become unprofitable and present no risk to commercial air travel."

Regional Security Context

The recent incidents occur during a time of heightened tension in Europe following numerous drone incursions that have resulted in flight interruptions across the continent.

Recent incidents in neighboring countries have prompted European leaders to accelerate discussions about enhancing aerial security throughout the continent.
